On first launch, iVacuum explains what it does ; scans your photo library, enhances files to take up less space, and replaces the originals. Tick the box and tap Continue to proceed.
iVacuum is unlocked with a single one-time purchase. There are no subscriptions and no recurring charges. If you've purchased before (including on a previous device), tap Restore Purchases to unlock the app again at no extra cost.
Tap Scan My Library. iVacuum will ask for permission to access your photos and videos, then check how much space your existing files are using. This step doesn't change anything yet.
You'll see how many files can be enhanced and roughly how much extra storage you could get back, before anything happens.
iVacuum will go through your library and enhance each eligible photo and video. Keep the app open while this runs ; larger libraries with video may take a few minutes.
Once finished, you'll see exactly how much extra storage you got back. You can scan again any time to check for new files to enhance.
No. iVacuum replaces each original with an enhanced version of the same photo or video ; nothing is removed from your library, and no content is deleted.
No. All scanning and enhancement happens locally on your device. Nothing is sent to a server or any third party.
This usually happens after reinstalling the app or switching devices. On the unlock screen, tap Restore Purchases ; this restores access at no additional cost, as long as you're signed in with the same Apple ID used for the original purchase.
No. iVacuum uses a single one-time purchase for lifetime access. There are no recurring charges.
Photo library access is required so iVacuum can scan your existing files and save enhanced versions back to your library. See our Privacy Policy for full details on what the app does and does not do with your data.
iVacuum skips files that are already small or efficiently compressed, since there's little space to gain. If your library is already optimized, there may simply be nothing left for it to do.
